CSPs are challenged to boost revenue and keep costs low at a time when customers are demanding more data-intensive products and services. Call Detail Records (CDRs) contain a wealth of information that when properly mined, allow the CSP to make effective decisions that reduce churn, optimise the network and assure revenue. Unfortunately, the volume of CDRs, the complexity of this analytics and the need for rapid response means that conventional database and analytic technologies fall short of this task.

IBM Netezza is a large-scale analytic appliance designed for this purpose. Netezza is widely used throughout the Communications industry by leading CSPs including Axiata, Celcom, Telkom (Indonesia), T-Mobile, TRUE and Virgin Media.

This presentation will outline the benefits of CDR analytics with IBM Netezza drawing on real customer experience.
