The reconciliation of innovation and usability
We are in an era where many are looking to bring the next disruptive innovation to the mobile industry. However, any innovation that is ‘disruptive’ often has to break through conventions and perceptions that users typically hold. Therefore innovation is often challenging. To be successful, the perfect balance between innovation and usability is important. That is why at Ubuntu, user research is an integral part of our product development. In developing our first Ubuntu smartphone, we design, we test, we ‘listen’ to the desirability and usefulness of innovation, and we improve the usability and user experience at all stages. This process is iterative and is focussed on the user. This talk will provide some key highlights of the main findings we have discovered from our user research. This session will be held in Chinese language. |
