Connecting Sichuan

A three-year, US$50 million public-private partnership with the Chinese government, designed to systematically transform health, education and the workforce through the use of information and communication technology (ICT) after 2008 earthquake in Sichuan, China.

Creating the 21st century ICT-enabled infrastructure and model to facilitate the post-quake reconstruction and sustainable development, especially for reconstruction of the education and healthcare systems, Cisco delivered quality services to hundreds of thousands of citizens in previously hard-to-reach parts of Sichuan Province.

Connected Ambulance

Imagine healthcare that can be delivered to your doorstep, wherever you are, in villages, towns or cities; quality healthcare services are all connected to one another wherever you are.

Here in Shanghai, Cisco brings it live to MAE - Come and see the Cisco connected ambulance at the GSMA Connected City.

The ambulance is similar to those donated to the Sichuan Provincial Government in the wake of the devastating 2008 earthquake. It was used as part of a program of rebuilding and improving local education and healthcare systems in the province, by providing a platform through which experts could give advice to the remote province from urban centres.
